Dame Barbara Rae has returned to County Mayo on Ireland's west coast for more than two decades, often working during the winter months when low light reveals the contours and hidden histories of the landscape. In Inishkeas, Rae distils these observations into a composition of luminous colour and layered forms. The print captures not a literal view of the islands, but an accumulated memory of place, shaped by years of looking, walking and returning.
