About

The Provost James Rae Trust is an Arts charity which will award grant aid to assist mature artists to further their practice.

This could be to help with exhibition costs, such as framing for exhibitions or transport and other gallery expenses.

It will also fund specific research projects requiring travel expenses, materials etc

Grants will be made at the discretion of the Trustees, and will be available to mid career and older artists born, educated and residing in Scotland.

Applications

Applications for financial aid are warmly invited from mature artists who must have been born and educated in Scotland.

These applications will be considered twice yearly. The next deadlines will be in 2024.

For a guide, proposals are asked to be no longer than 3 A4 sides with up to 10 max images to supplement the application along with an up to date arts practice CV.

Ballinglen Arts Foundation

The Trust will fund one artist a year to undertake a fellowship residency at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, County Mayo, Ireland, for a duration of four weeks.

Artists awarded will be specifically selected and contacted by the Trust.
