Marion MacPhee
Marion MacPhee is a printmaker whose practice is deeply informed by landscape, memory, and intuitive processes of mark-making. In 2023, she was awarded a grant from the James Rae Trust to in a Mixed Media Printmaking workshop at Ballinglen Arts Foundation, County Mayo, led by Master Printmaker Ron Pokrasso.
This experience marked a significant point of development in MacPhee’s practice, offering both the time and space to explore monoprinting and mixed media approaches. Under Pokrasso’s guidance, she embraced a more intuitive and liberated way of working, rediscovering techniques rooted in her earlier studies at Edinburgh College of Art. The process of layering transparent inks introduced a sense of depth and temporal history to her prints, enriching her visual language.
